Axemen Even Series After Extra-Inning Showdown in Game 2

The Hurricanes took the shutout win in Game 1 of the Saturday series and the Axemen responded in Game 2 evening the series in extra innings.

Holland College Hurricanes outsted Acadia Axemen 5-0 on Saturday at Memorial Field, Charlottetown, PEI.


An error put Holland College Hurricanes on the board in the bottom of the first.


Holland College Hurricanes added one run in the third after Acadia Axemen committed an error.


Ethan Smith earned the win for Holland College Hurricanes. The hurler surrendered four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking four. Jacobie Ford took the loss for Acadia Axemen. The hurler went three innings, allowing five runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking two.


Simon Dubois and Dylan Worth were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Holland College Hurricanes while hitting back-to-back. Dubois went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Holland College Hurricanes stole four bases in the game. Holland College Hurricanes were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Alex Hache had the most chances in the field with seven.


Brady Cox went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Acadia Axemen in hits. Acadia Axemen turned one double play in the game.

Acadia Axemen snatched the lead late in their 7-6 victory over Holland College Hurricanes on Saturday. The game was tied at six in the top of the ninth when Brady Cox doubled, scoring one run.


Acadia Axemen built a 5-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Holland College Hurricanes's charge. Holland College Hurricanes closed the gap by scoring on a double, a walk, a double, and an error.


Acadia Axemen got on the board in the top of the second inning after Seth Routledge singled, Myles Wall singled, Holland College Hurricanes committed an error, and Jacobie Ford walked, each scoring one run.


Acadia Axemen committed an error, which helped Holland College Hurricanes tie the game at six in the bottom of the seventh.


Ben Cairns stepped on the hill first for Acadia Axemen. The righty surrendered seven hits and five runs over five and one-third innings, striking out three and walking seven. Thomas MacEachern began the game for Holland College Hurricanes. The righty gave up five hits and four runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Saturo Inoue threw one inning of shutout ball for Acadia Axemen in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out none and walking none.


Routledge, Seth Harquail, and Patrick Dobbin each collected two hits for Acadia Axemen. Routledge, Cox, Wall, Ford, and Dobbin each drove in one run for Acadia Axemen. Acadia Axemen turned one double play in the game.


Dylan Worth drove the middle of the lineup, leading Holland College Hurricanes with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. Simon Dubois led Holland College Hurricanes with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 12 walks for the game. D. Worth stole two bases. Holland College Hurricanes turned one double play in the game.
