No-Hitter Helps Axemen Punch Ticket to ACBA Championship!

Despite losing to the bats of X-Men in Game 1, the Axemen were able to come back on the back of Noah Scrimgeour in Game 2 after he tossed a complete game No-Hitter in Game 2. Timely hitting by Ben Cairns of the Axemen helped him drive in 2 runs and secure the victory and the Axemen's place in the ACBA Championship next weekend!

Carter Dickson drove in four runs on two hits to lead STFX X-Men past Acadia Axemen 11-1 on Sunday at Memorial Park, Kentville NS. Dickson doubled in the fifth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring one.


STFX X-Men got on the board in the top of the third inning after Ryder Penny grounded out, Jonathan Tremblay doubled, and Acadia Axemen committed an error, each scoring one run.


STFX X-Men scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Liam Keats induced Luke Sampson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Dickson doubled, scoring three runs, and a steal of home scored one run.


Gabe Bramwell pitched four innings in relief for STFX X-Men. The reliever allowed one hit and one run while, striking out two and walking one. Bronson Lightfoot began the game for STFX X-Men. The starter gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking one. Patrick Dobbin started on the mound for Acadia Axemen. The righty gave up seven hits and six runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking one.


STFX X-Men amassed nine hits in the game. Blake Cooper, Evan Whyte, and Dickson each collected two hits for STFX X-Men. Nolan Galloway stole two bases. STFX X-Men stole three bases in the game. STFX X-Men were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cooper had the most chances in the field with six.


Jack Barry led the team with one run batted in. Ben Cairns led Acadia Axemen with one hit in two at bats. Acadia Axemen turned one double play in the game.

Both teams were strong on the hill on Sunday, but Acadia Axemen defeated STFX X-Men 3-0. Noah Scrimgeour started the game for Acadia Axemen and recorded 21 outs.


Acadia Axemen got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Ben Cairns hit a sacrifice fly, and Isaiah Shulte-Bates grounded out, each scoring one run.


Scrimgeour earned the win for Acadia Axemen. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Aiden Myette took the loss for STFX X-Men. The pitcher went six innings, surrendering three runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking two.


Cairns drove the middle of the lineup, leading Acadia Axemen with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Brady Cox led Acadia Axemen with two hits in three at bats. Acadia Axemen turned one double play in the game.


STFX X-Men were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Blake Cooper made the most plays with six.
