UNB Reds defeated SMU Huskies 9-6 on Saturday
UNB Reds got on the board in the first inning after Nick St Pierre grounded out, scoring one run.
UNB Reds added one run in the third. SMU Huskies committed an error, making the score 2-0.
SMU Huskies scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Brock Townsend hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Justin Blanchard drew a walk, scoring one run, Cameron Brown grounded out, scoring one run, and Camilo Riesgo singled, scoring two runs.
Waylon Matchett pitched four and one-third innings in relief for UNB Reds. The righty surrendered six hits and five runs (four earned) while, striking out one and walking three. Cooper Fraser began the game for UNB Reds. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking none. Kyle Sampson started the game for SMU Huskies. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and six runs (zero earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three.
St Pierre led UNB Reds with two hits in four at bats. UNB Reds turned two double plays in the game.
Riesgo, the number eight hitter for SMU Huskies, led the way with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Townsend and Lucas Taylor were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for SMU Huskies. SMU Huskies turned one double play in the game.

UNB Reds got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after Connor Hill hit a sacrifice fly, and Nick St Pierre tripled, each scoring one run.
Adam Wenzel opened the game for UNB Reds. The pitcher surrendered four hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Colton Maclaren stepped on the bump first for SMU Huskies. The pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking none.
St Pierre and Jack Bennett each collected two hits for UNB Reds. St Pierre, Michael Delong, Hill, and Matthew Dignam each drove in one run for UNB Reds.
Oscar Kozoriz, Lucas Taylor, Adam Woodman, and Ethan Richards each collected one hit for SMU Huskies.
UNB Reds will travel to DAL Tigers for their next game on Sunday.
