Tigers Offense Dominant in Game 1, But Axemen Even The Series

After a dominant offensive performance by Dalhousie in Game 1, the Axemen were able to bring back the series to a split with a victory in Game 2.

DAL Tigers won big over Acadia Axemen 13-0 on Sunday at Memorial Park, Kentville NS.


DAL Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Jordan Rovet hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.


A ground out by Rovet extended the DAL Tigers lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning.


DAL Tigers scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. An error scored one run, Aidan Rittenberg doubled, scoring two runs, and Rovet singled, scoring two runs.


DAL Tigers scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Nick Murray drew a walk, scoring one run, Rovet drew a walk, scoring one run, Jayden Park doubled, scoring three runs, and Mason Mayea singled, scoring one run.


Zachary Selina started on the hill for DAL Tigers. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Ben Cairns started on the mound for Acadia Axemen. The right-handed pitcher gave up nine hits and seven runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking one.


DAL Tigers accumulated 12 hits in the game. Rovet drove the middle of the lineup, leading DAL Tigers with five runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Mayea led DAL Tigers with three hits in four at bats. Rittenberg, Park, and Murray each collected multiple hits for DAL Tigers. DAL Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Xander Brown had the most chances in the field with five.


Brady Cox and Isaiah Shulte-Bates were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Acadia Axemen while hitting back-to-back. Acadia Axemen turned one double play in the game.

Acadia Axemen were triumphant over DAL Tigers 4-1 on Sunday at Memorial Park, Kentville NS.


Acadia Axemen got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after DAL Tigers committed an error, Brady Cox walked, and Seth Routledge walked, each scoring one run.


Saturo Inoue started the game for Acadia Axemen. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Riley Andre led things off on the mound for DAL Tigers. The pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking four.





Routledge, Austin Wall, Ben Cairns, Isaiah Shulte-Bates, and Noah Scrimgeour each collected one hit for Acadia Axemen. Routledge, Cox, Jacobie Ford, and Scrimgeour each drove in one run for Acadia Axemen. Acadia Axemen turned two double plays in the game. Acadia Axemen didn't commit a single error in the field. Cairns had the most chances in the field with 10.


Xander Brown went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Number eight hitter, Andrew Miller, showed the depth of DAL Tigers's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats.


Next up for Acadia Axemen is a game at Holland College Hurricanes on Saturday.
